WWII Veteran
US Army Air Corps
After graduating from Princeton High School, I served in the infantry before qualifying for the US Army Air Corps. Within the 8th Air Force, I flew B-24s in early 1945, flying either as a bombardier or navigator. I flew 15 missions over Germany (with three of them unrecorded), flying in lead planes. After the war in the European theater ended, I was stateside waiting to go to the Pacific theater when the war ended. After two and a half years of service, I left the US Army Air Corps with the Air Medals and two clusters.
